I thought we would take a look at some hamstring focused pre-workout stretches this week!
In table tennis, we are constantly making use of the hamstrings with our footwork (see my earlier posts for more on table tennis footwork and agility!) and if overused they tend to become sore quite easily. Hamstrings are also quite prone to injury.
Therefore, it’s always important to include some hamstring stretches in your warm-up routine!
Fitness Goal: as explained in the video, try and hold the stretch for around 15-30 seconds on each leg respectively.
Tip: you may see that I am moving slightly as I perform the stretch. I’m not pushing down on the bent leg, but rather bending lower or ‘forward’ so as to apply more of a stretch to the hamstrings!
