Training and competing abroad are essential parts of Matthew’s development in his Table Tennis career, due to the lack of regular professional quality training and competition in the UK.

Additionally, since the Covid-19 Pandemic, participation in the prestigious WTT events across the world, which are the sole way to improve Matthew’s PB World Ranking in the sport and a vital pathway to strengthening his level of play, have become very expensive to finance.

Totalling the overall expenditure each season – rent, training, tournaments (entry fees, flights, hotels) – the costs add up to a substantial amount, most of which Matthew must self-finance.

Matthew is now seeking additional sponsorship to enable him to keep competing at the highest level, and to allow him the chance to follow his Olympic dreams.
