2011/2012 Season Review

During the course of the 2011-2012 season Matthew played in eight tournaments, reaching the final on six occasions and winning four of the tournaments. Within this period he was consistently ranked in the top ten of the English Table Tennis Association (ETTA) U12 monthly rating lists and rapidly rose to reach the top 3.

In February 2012 Matthew won the Hampshire Schools U11 Championships and represented Hampshire in the English Schools Table Tennis Association (ESTTA) U11 Championships going on to win and become the boys Individual National Champion. In June 2012 he also reached the semi-finals of the ETTA U12 individual finals – only being beaten by the eventual winner Alex Ramsden. In November 2012 Matthew was awarded a position on the Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme in recognition of his achievements in table tennis during the course of the year.
